Jaw joint and TMJ care
The neuromasticatory system consists of the muscles, teeth and temporomandibular joint, or TMJ. These 3 components must always work in harmony. When balance is absent from the outset or is disrupted, following trauma for example, a wide range of symptoms can appear.
The TMJ has 2 distinctive features: it connects the right side with the left, then ends its movement on the teeth. When the joint position does not coincide with the position of the teeth, this causes muscle tension (neck, shoulders, nape, temples, cheeks, headaches and migraines). Muscular overload (clenching or grinding the teeth) causes damage to the teeth (cracks, fractures, multiple areas of wear, etc.). Joint disorders are also possible, with clicking being the first symptoms, as the TMJ must move out of its normal position to adapt as best it can to the position of the teeth.
Solutions exist to treat these various problems. We would be pleased to take care of you!
